Maslanka Weekly highlights excellent performances of David Maslanka’s music from around the web.
On Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 8:00 am – 10:00 am CST, Perform America – TX, LLC hosted a livestream rehearsal featuring Artistic Director of Bands, Jerry Junkin, working with the 2019 6A TMEA Honor Band, Vandegrift High School Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Mike Howard, in one of David Maslanka’s epic masterpieces, Symphony No. 4.
We here at Maslanka Weekly are not exactly sure if these are high school students, or if someone kidnapped professional musicians and dressed them up in teenager costumes. But what we can tell you is that viewing these two hours of music making between Jerry Junkin and some of the most talented young people this country has to offer will be worth every second of your time. Please watch or make plans (very soon) to watch this collaboration between the Vandegrift High School Wind Ensemble and Maestro Jerry Junkin. You won’t be sorry you did!
