Women Wind Orchestra is a musical education born in 2014 from the idea of some musicians active in the band field, between Brescia and Verona. The aim of the group is to “enhance the female figure within the band reality, but it is also to propose to the public original wind music, and make the listener aware of the quality and beauty of the repertoire that the group proposes, putting at the center of the women “.
The musicians of the WWO are over 60, each with their own commitments and their daily priorities, they decided to dedicate part of their weekends to music.
The 9 March concert repertoire will be based on the original wind band music. We pass from the milestones of the band repertoire as the very famous and very important Irish Tune from County Derry, written by Percy Grainger in 1911, to get to pieces of recent composition as Coming Home by Jillian Whitaker (2016) and the first national CALIFORNIA execution of DAVID MASLANKA.
