Hymnsongs
The Wind Symphony welcomes visiting composer Johnnie Vinson for a program titled “Hymnsongs” that includes Chester, from William Schuman’s New England Triptych; Vinson’s Nettleton, which is based on an early American hymn; and David Maslanska’s Symphony No. 4, which also has its roots in several hymns.
Presented in honor of Kenneth Schermerhorn, former conductor of the Nashville Symphony, with gratitude to Martha Ingram for her generous support of the Blair School
This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the West Garage (2500 Children’s Way) free of charge.
